The Philadelphia Opera Goes Virtual
Random Acts of Culture

The holiday season started early for the Opera Company of Philadelphia who organized a flash mob of more than 650 opera singers gathered from regional groups to perform Handel's Messiah to unsuspecting shoppers at Macy's in Center City.

The performance was one of 1,000 Random Acts of Culture, funded by the John S. and James L. Knight Foundation.

Exposure didn't end with the performance; it truly grew wings. More than 6,000,000 people have viewed the performance on youtube. The number continues to rise and is a testament to the impact of a successful campaign, in addition to the holiday spirit.

Eight Marketing Partners with Harmelin Media

Eight Marketing is proud to announce that it will be working with Harmelin Media on the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania.

The project will include providing strategic marketing and promotional planning and implementation support for Pennsylvania departments.

Watch for updates to this project throughout 2011.

Eight Maids A Milking

Each year we highlight PNC Bank's real cost of the Twelve Days of Christmas, released in their annual survey. In 2010, "Eight Maids a Milking" are still working for minimum wage, which saw no increase in 2010, the first time in three years. Hiring the maids this year is still a bargain at a cost of $58.00.

Tech Tip: You Have a Friend Elfmas Town

This year, you can still Elf Yourself thanks to OfficeMax, but you have to be a friend to get into Elfmas Town. OfficeMax has continued their marketing sensation where you can turn yourself and up to four of your closest friends into elves and even perform a little dance number. But the company has taken it one step further for 2010, creating Elfmas Town which you can enter only through permission on Facebook.
